Playboy Mansion Officially Sells For $100 Million

The Playboy mansion has officially been sold. 

The Los Angeles property has been home to lavish, outrageous parties that facilitated the sexual revolution. Founder Hugh Hefner, now age 90, will continue to living in the 29-room mansion and will pay $1 million a year for rent and services.

The home was purchased by Twinkie heir Daren Metropoulos for $100 million, solidifying this sale has the highest sales price in Los Angeles history. Metropoulos owns the property next door and eventually plans to combine both estates, which was reportedly the original plan of architect Arthur Roland Kelly when he designed it in 1927. 

Playboy purchased the mansion in 1971 for a little over $1 million. The home features 12-bedrooms, a wine cellar, a home theater, a gym, tennis court, a swimming pool, a grotto, a pet cemetery, a separate game house and an official zoo license.
