Copenhagen Fashion Week spring/summer 2017 ran from Wednesday, Aug. 10 through Friday, Aug. 12.
This is the largest fashion event for the Nordic Region featuring unusual, sophisticated, structural and artful womenswear and menswear collections.
Although the Scandinavian country has largely contributed to various facets of design, especially paving the way for modern furniture design in the late 19th and 20th century, Denmark is not as well known for its fashion design. But that is all changing with designers like Lala Berlin, Saks Potts, Freya Dalsjø, Designers' Nest, Asger Juel Larsen and Henrik Vibskov gaining international attention.
Asger Juel Larsen was born in Denmark and studied fashion design at the London College of Fashion. He graduated at the top of his class and received a B.A. in Menswear design, and creatively he has become known as one of the most avant-garde, experimental Danish designers with a strong, fresh perspective on mens street fashion.
Whereas newly launched menswear label, Ellen Pedersen, offers a modern approach to sportswear. Ellen Pedersen previously worked for Christopher Raeburn, Astrid Andersen, UNIQLO and Zegna Baruffa, and aims to develop a youthful, creative and tailored aesthetic offering with her brand.
Along with Asger Juel Larsen and Ellen Pedersen, we've rounded up our favorite menswear looks from the following; Designers' Nest, Barbara I Gongini, Designskolen Kolding, Henrik Vibskov, Han Kjøbenhavn, Won Hundred and Uniforms for the Dedicated.
