Benedict Cumberbatch has said that putting on his "Doctor Strange" full Sorcerer Supreme costume for the first time brought out the kid in him.

The 40-year-old English actor, who plays the titular role in the upcoming Marvel film, told IGN at San Diego Comic-Con last month that he got to wear the outfit for the first time during a screen test.

"It was great," he said of what he feels after putting on the regalia for the first time. "It feels awesome. You feel like the kid dressing up."

"I wouldn't say it's empowering," he continued. "[But] it's just ... you got a little kid thrill again and you think, 'Wow I get it. I get the magic of superhero films.' It just makes a lot of sense, and I hope that transfers because it sure was a lot of fun to do. It really was."

The fun moment also made Cumberbatch realize why there are so many people who are into cosplay.

"I [now] get why cosplay is such a big thing," the "Sherlock" star said. "I mean I need a lot of help putting that stuff [outfit] on, let alone [make my own costume]. I'm rubbish with a needle and thread. [I] just stand there and it happens."

Besides Cumberbatch, "Doctor Strange" also stars Mads Mikkelsen ("Casino Royale"), Chiwetel Ejiofor ("12 Years a Slave"), Rachel McAdams ("Midnight in Paris"), Michael Stuhlbarg ("A Serious Man"), Tilda Swinton ("We Need To Talk About Kevin"), Amy Landecker ("A Serious Man"), Scott Adkins ("Expendables 2") and Benedict Wong ("The Martian"), among many others.

Scott Derrickson directed the film from a screenplay he co-wrote with Jon Spaihts and Scott C. Robert. The movie is slated to open in theaters on Nov. 4. Check out the promo clips for the film below!
