There are already rumors popping up about the GoPro Hero5 and it looks like it will come with new features that would entice users to replace their Hero4.

The GoPro Hero5 will apparently have built-in GPS, according to recently published FCC filings. There's no clear indication as to how people would be able to use it, but it would most likely keep track of where videos and photos are captured much like how geotagging works on smartphone cameras.

The FCC filing also clearly stated that the Hero5 will also have Wi-Fi, Bluetooth Low Energy and will operate with 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. The filing also teased that it will have a thinner and lighter body, as pointed out by Engadget.

A smaller and lighter body may be appealing for some people, but it may possibly mean that users will have to get brand new accessories for the Hero5 as the current ones may not be compatible.

The user interface will be getting an upgrade as well and is probably the biggest change from GoPro's current lineup. The Hero5 will have a redesigned touchscreen interface that would make it easier to navigate through the camera's modes and settings.

The new touchscreen interface was first spotted on Reddit when a user named Konrad Iturbe posted an alleged leaked video tutorial for the Hero5.

The video shows that users will simply slide down from the top of the screen to bring up options for wireless connectivity, the microphone, preference and connections to other accessories and the GoPro App.

The video also shows that there's a new connection option for what is called GoPro Sniper. There is no word yet on what exactly that is, but it is possible that it is a new type of accessory for capturing videos from a distance as the name suggests. This may also be for GoPro's upcoming drone called the Karma.

As for release, the most popular rumor is that the Hero5 will be released as early as September or as late as December, according to Mobile & Apps.

GoPro has not made any official announcements as of this writing.
