"Sleepy Hollow" is undergoing a major revamp in season 4. The Fox drama series has made a slew of casting changes in its upcoming season. After adding "True Blood" actress Janina Gavankar as Abbie Mills' (Nicole Beharie) replacement, Diana, and "Lost" alum Jeremy Davies as the new villain and Ichabod Crane's (Tom Mison) enemy, the network has cast three new actors.

"Empire" actor Jerry MacKinnon plays the role of Jake Wells, a very eager and obsessed research analyst who works in the federal archive cataloguing reports of supernatural phenomena, Deadline reports. His job, and the federal archive section for which he is in charge, has been more or less forgotten, but Jake enjoys his work. MacKinnon's character has a lifelong fascination with supernatural activity and strange, unconventional theories. Seems like he will fit right in in the Fox series.

However, Jake's passion for unexplained occurrences has left him with no friends. Hence, when he meets "Sleepy Hollow's" lead Ichabod Crane, it changes his life. Not only does Crane prove to Jake that all those weird activities he has been documenting are true, but he soon becomes a mentor in his life. Add to that, Ichabod and Jake also become friends.

Meanwhile, "Awkward" and "Days Of Our Lives" actress Rachel Melvin plays the role of a self-taught engineering prodigy named Alex Norwood. She works with Jake in the supernatural archives. However, while Jake manages the artifacts and cataloguing of information, Alex Norwood handles equipments and machines. The website described her as having the unique ability to solve complex problems by breaking them down to its simplest components.

Alex has never been educated, but she is a quick learner who has gained most of her unique skills through real-world experiences. She almost always never trusts people, but once someone gains her trust, she instantly becomes loyal to him/her.

"MasterChef Junior" season 2 contestant Oona Yaffe has also been cast in "Sleepy Hollow" season 4 as Diana's daughter. She is creative, athletic and wise beyond her 10 years of age. Yaffe's character, Molly Thomas, is also strong, independent and an explorer at heart. Her natural curiosity ensures that she quickly bonds with Crane.

"Sleepy Hollow" season 4 airs in early 2017.
