Playing two characters at the same period of time is big challenge for actors, but Sarah Paulson did that amazingly last TV season. In fact, the 41-year-old actress landed double nominations in this year's Emmys: one for her performance as Hypodermic Sally on "American Horror Story: Hotel" and another one for her portrayal of Marcia Clark on "The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story." In her recent interview with Glamour, Paulson opened up about how she managed to play the two eccentric roles at the same time.
"I was doing Marcia Clark and Sally at the same time. I mean truly at the same time -- sometimes on the same day," the actress told the magazine. "It was very taxing on me mentally, but having played the conjoined twins [Bette and Dot] the season of ['American Horror Story: Freak Show'] before, I was sort of used to finding a way to divide my focus and my attention."

The fact that Hypodermic Sally and Marcia Clark are complete opposite of one another also helped Paulson shift from one role to another more easily.
"The reason I was able to play Sally was that she just literally didn't give a f--k about anything," the actress said. "A person who has no investment in anything is the polar opposite of Marcia. Marcia had so much empathy, conviction, belief, dedication, and fire in her belly. Sally, all she wanted was another fix, all she wanted was to make out with Wes Bentley. And if you've made out with Wes Bentley, you would want to be continuing that as much as possible. Believe me."
