Even Zac Efron is having a hard time finding a date.

In a recent interview with U.K.'s The Sunday Times, Efron admitted that he's struggling looking for a new love, because his name leads to a lot of wrong assumptions.

"Dating is something I'll never be able to do," the 28-year-old actor told The Times. "As in the dictionary definition of dating, because one way or another I've impacted that person's life and they'll soon realize it."

That seems to be true, as Efron's most recent ex-girlfriend Sami Miró admitted to Elle.com last year that she'd learned to be more private about her life -- most especially about whereabouts -- during the time when she was still with the "High School Musical" actor.

"It kind of just comes with the territory [of dating a celebrity]," she told the website. "And I know there's no really changing that, so you have to just embrace it. I'm not trying to hide anything in my life. If I was dating someone who wasn't in the limelight, I might have more photos on [Instagram] of our relationship, but I do think it's important. I mean, it's what is going on in my life, and I think that my social media can still represent that."

Meanwhile, when asked if he would resort to apps to find a partner, Efron jokingly told The Times: "Amazingly, when I signed up for Tinder, nobody swiped me! They thought it was fake ... That never happened."

Efron and Miró, who started dating in September 2014, broke up last May. Prior to their relationship, the hunk famously dated his "High School Musical" co-star Vanessa Hudgens from 2006 to 2010.

Efron will be next seen in the biographical comedy-drama film "The Masterpiece," which is scheduled to be theatrically released in the fall of 2016. He's also one of the main cast members of the action comedy film "Baywatch," which will bow in theaters on May 19, 2017.
