'Lucifer' Season 2 Spoilers: EP Talks Ella Lopez, Gushes Over Aimee Garcia
"Lucifer" season 2 executive producer Joe Henderson recently talked about new cast member Aimee Garcia who will be playing the role of Ella Lopez.
While speaking with Blastr, Henderson said that Garcia's Ella was inspired by a guest character from a previous episode.
Father Frank was a man of faith, and he had interesting conversations with Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis).
Just like him, Ella is a very religious woman who believes in God and doesn't judge other people.
"She brings both that an innocence that makes Lucifer feel very disarming and make him feel somewhat uncomfortable," he said.
Henderson also gushed over Garcia and her chemistry with all her co-stars.
According to the exec, Garcia just clicks with everyone on and off screen.
Meanwhile, Henderson is extremely happy over Tricia Helfer's casting in "Lucifer" season 2.
The exec shared that he's a huge fan of the actress especially when she starred in "Battlestar Galactica."
"When we ended season 1 with that single word 'mom,' we knew that this role was going to be near-impossible to cast. You need someone who could be formidable and funny, clever and scary, and soft and warm and mean... And when we found out that got Tricia Helfer, we were thrilled because she could do all of it," he said.
In other news, Henderson said that "Lucifer" season 2 will continue to follow the same format as the second half of season 1.
During that time, a case of the week was introduced, and Lucifer and Chloe Decker (Lauren German) had to solve it.
However, the exec added that they also plan to introduce new concepts and storylines next season so that fans won't get bored with the show.
"Lucifer" season 2 will premiere on FOX on Sept. 19 at 9 p.m. ET.
