These days, whenever a rapper gives a release date for an album, you really have to take it with a grain of salt, especially if it's highly anticipated and there's a lot of pressure on the artist.

Some might say that Jay Electronica's "Act II: Patents of Nobility" album falls into that category, because it seems like we've been waiting forever to hear it and own it.

Thankfully, though, the long wait could be over. At least according to a photo that was posted by director and Jay's friend Jason Goldwatch.

The pic shows the New Orleans rapper releasing a large bird from his arm while standing in the desert, and the caption says 1.7.17, which could mean the project will be unearthed in the first week of next year.

But the question remains: Should we even take this date seriously, because there are a couple of reasons that we really shouldn't? For one, many of us have gotten our hopes up in the past regarding this album and ended up regretting it and two, there's no actual confirmation that the date written is the day of release.

What do you think? Should we expect to see "Act II: Patents of Nobility" in early January of 2017? Please let us know in the poll question below.
