'Masters Of Sex' Season 4 Premiere Synopsis, Trailer Shows Virginia, Bill's Reunion [WATCH]

When "Masters Of Sex" fans last saw sex researcher Virginia Johnson/Ginny (Lizzy Caplan) and Dr. William Masters/Bill (Michael Sheen), things were not good between the couple. In fact, she had left him to start a life with perfumer Dan Logan (Josh Charles). It seemed like the end of the couple, but will a reunion take place in season 4?
It looks like it will. Watch the first trailer of the upcoming season below:
Sure, Bill looks worse for wear. He did, after all, almost lose his practice and completely lost his lover and family. However, it looks like the swinging '60s and '70s will ensure that the two find a way back to each other.
One shocking aspect of the above promo is the fact that Ginny has sex with someone other than her husband. Not only is she married — we assume to Dan Logan — but she is unfaithful to him. The synopsis of the season 4 premiere (via SpoilerTV) confirms that Ginny isn't happy in her marriage to the rich perfumer.
In the wake of their fallout, Masters and Johnson search for purpose in a world without one another and look to work as their personal lives crash down around them. Libby finds herself alone for the first time since her marriage and discovers some unexpected allies.
Of course Bill and Ginny were meant to work together. After all, what is "Masters Of Sex" without the two lead characters being together in some capacity?
Furthermore, a slew of new cast has been added to spice up the sex researchers' stories. "About A Boy" and "New Girl" actor David Walton plays the role of Abe Perlman, a high-powered lawyer with a penchant for well-advertised cases, TVLine reports. Charming, handsome and cocky, he will help Virginia and Bill in a case that puts science in conflict with the state.
Joining Walton is Niecy Nash who is in charge of Masters' Alcoholics Anonymous meetings, Betty Gilpin as a new doctor who joins his practice and Erin Karpluk as his new patient.
"Masters Of Sex" season 4 premieres Sunday, Sept. 11, at 10 p.m. EST on Showtime.
