Scott Eastwood is thrilled to be part of the upcoming action film "Fast & Furious 8."
On the red carpet at the New York City premiere of his new film "Suicide Squad," Eastwood told E! News about how much it means for him to be in the F. Gary Gray-directed movie.
"I'm just honored to be part of it," the 30-year-old actor said. "Paul was one of my best friends and to add to his story, to be a part of his family and all the great people and cast that are there, it's like a dream come true."
Eastwood briefly talked about his relationship with the late actor this past April when news of his casting surfaced.
"Paul was a close friend of mine," he wrote on Instagram at time. "We surfed together, traveled together, and he was a huge role model and influencing figure in my life when I was younger. He still is. He was an older brother to me."
In the film, Eastwood will play a law enforcement agent who also happens to be Mr. Nobody's (Kurt Russell) new protégé.

"I can't say too much, but I get to play a new character who operates under Kurt Russell in the movie, which is incredible, because Kurt was a total childhood hero of mine growing up," he wrote on Instagram. "Very much looking forward to learning a thing or two from such an original and cool guy."
Besides Eastwood and Russell, "Fast & Furious 8" also stars franchise regulars Vin Diesel (Dominic Toretto), Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson (Luke Hobbs), Michelle Rodriguez (Letty Ortiz), Tyrese Gibson (Roman Pearce), Chris "Ludacris" Bridges (Tej Parker), Elsa Pataky (Elena Neves), Nathalie Emmanuel (Ramsey) and Lucas Black (Sean Boswell).
Jason Statham (Deckard Shaw) is also confirmed to reprise his character as Deckard Shaw. Charlize Theron will play the villain named Cipher with Kristofer Hivju as one of her henchmen. Helen Mirren will also appear in the movie.
"Fast & Furious 8" opens in theaters on April 14, 2017.
