'American Horror Story' Spoilers: Is Emma Roberts Returning For Season 6?

Is "Scream Queens" star Emma Roberts appearing in season 6 of "American Horror Story"?

During the "Scream Queens" panel at San Diego Comic-Con last month, Roberts was asked if she might appear in the hush-hush next installment of the FX series.

"I think that there might be [a chance]... now we're both in LA so maybe," the 25-year-old actress said, according to Variety. "I love that show so much."

Roberts starred in seasons 3 ("Coven") and 4 ("Freak Show") of the horror anthology series. She was supposed to return for season 5 ("Hotel"), but her schedule prevented her from doing so.

"Last year, it just didn't work out 'cause I was still shooting 'Scream Queens,'" Roberts told Entertainment Tonight last March. "But now that 'Scream Queens' is shooting [season 2] in L.A. and not New Orleans, maybe I'll just have to walk over to the stage and force myself onto the show."

Last December, Roberts told Yahoo Celebrity that she and series creator Ryan Murphy were planning to do "something amazing and devilish" in season 6, before gushing about season 5's breakout star Lady Gaga.

"I love ... season [5], I watch most of it with my eyes closed, but I think I get the gist," Roberts added. "I love Lady Gaga so much, so I was like, 'Next season I want to work with Lady Gaga for sure.'"

Plot details about the upcoming season are being kept under wraps. But a popular theory circulating around the Internet, theorizes that season 6 will tell the story of Michael, the devilish baby that Vivian (Connie Britton) gave birth to and Constance (Jessica Lange) ended up taking in season 1 ("Murder House").

Cast members who are confirmed to return for the next season are Angela Bassett, Lady Gaga, Evan Peters, Cheyenne Jackson and Leslie Jordan.
