Honor Note 8 Revealed, To Be Available In China This Month: See Specs, Price, U.S. Release Date

Chinese phonemaker Honor, a Huawei sub-brand, has officially unveiled the new Note 8 Android smartphone.
The Honor Note 8's 6.6-inch display is a Super AMOLED panel and has a quad-HD 1440p screen resolution. The large handset is also incredibly thin at just 7.18 millimeters and is built with an all-metal body design.
The Honor Note 8 is powered by an octa-core Kirin 955 processor with a Mali-T880 GPU, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage and a massive 4,500mAh battery.
The handset also comes with 64GB and 128GB variants. If users decide to pick up the 32GB model, they will be able to use the device's hybrid dual-SIM card tray to add a microSD card to expand storage.
On the back, it features a 13-megapixel camera with a lens aperture of f/2.0, optical image stabilization and an RGBW sensor, according to 9To5Google. The front-facing camera, on the other hand, comes with an 8-megapixel sensor.
The device may not feature a dual-camera system like the Huawei P9, but it does include dual-SIM support, a rear fingerprint sensor and USB Type-C connector.
The Honor Note 8 is scheduled to be released in China on Aug. 8 and will sell for 2,299 yuan (approx. $345) for the 32GB model.
Honor said that the device will be heading to the United States in the near future, according to Engadget.
In addition to announcing the Note 8, the Chinese phonemaker also unveiled the mid-range Honor 5, which features a 5-inch 720p HD display, a quad-core MediaTek processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage.
The Honor 5 will be available in China on Aug. 2 and will sell for 599 yuan ($90). There's no word yet on its availability in the U.S. so it might be only be release in China and some other Asian markets for now.
