Vera Farmiga isn't leaving White Pine Bay yet.

Although season 4 of "Bates Motel" ended with the death of Norma (Farmiga), executive producer Carlton Cuse confirmed to Entertainment Weekly  last week that the actress is returning for the fifth and final season of the show as a regular.

"There's all these rumors she's going to go on 'American Horror Story' -- no," Cuse said. "She still exists in Norman's [Freddie Highmore] imagination. He will become an increasingly unreliable narrator and through his point of view, we're going to see a lot of her. She's very much a character."

Cuse's fellow executive producer Kerry Ehrin said the same thing during an interview with Yahoo TV last May. "Vera is going to be fully present [next season]," she said. "We're really excited about the idea of unleashing a character that is ... a hallucination."

Cuse also talked to TVLine about how Norma will be incorporated to the show in season 5. "She's existing now in Norman's brain," he said. "In the original 'Psycho' you don't really know anything about Norma Bates. You just know that she's a corpse, and you imagine that she was this shrew of a woman who berated her son into becoming crazy. But we re-imagined their relationship as this complex, intense, co-dependent love story. And that relationship continues very much in season 5. It just has a different dimension, which is that she's dead. [Laughs] But it's not the end of the story."

Farmiga, however, admitted during a roundtable interview at San Diego Comic-Con last week, that she still has no idea what's in store for her next season.

"I don't even know how I will approach mother," she said (via Showbiz Junkies). "I don't know until they give me some words, and I haven't seen a single page of season 5. I only imagine that they have no rules anymore so they're throwing all the rules out. I think it's going to be very interesting. I have no idea what's in store for her. I'm game for it."

"Bates Motel" season 5 is expected to premiere March next year.
