'The Vampire Diaries' Season 8 Spoilers: Damon, Enzo Could Be Killed Off In Finale?

"The Vampire Diaries" season 8 may see the death of at least one character.

Just recently, executive producer Julie Plec talked about Bonnie (Kat Graham) while at the 2016 San Diego Comic Con.

According to her, Bonnie will struggle in saving the two most important men in her life.

Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) is Bonnie's best friend, and Enzo (Michael Malarkey) is the love of her life.

Both male characters are currently trapped inside the Armory vault, and they have also turned to the dark side because of this.

"Bonnie, of course, is going to great lengths to save not just her best friend Damon but the love of her life Enzo, and she's not going to lose both of them, is she? That would be terrible, although it is 'The Vampire Diaries,' so come to think of it, that's still an option," she told Buddy TV.

Meanwhile, Plec also shared some ideas for Matt Davis' character Alaric. Throughout the past couple of seasons, Alaric has not had any luck when it came to his love life.

He was in a relationship with Jo, but the latter died. More recently, he was linked to Caroline (Candice Accola-King), but after giving birth to their twins she decided to get back together with Stefan (Paul Welsey).

According to Plec, they are still thinking of how to write Alaric's love story in the final season of the hit The CW series.

"Alaric lost so much and has never been able to find love in a way that can be forever for him. Do we finally give that to him? Or do we keep him for all eternity as the guy who's unlucky in love?" Plec said.

In other news, there won't be any crossovers between "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 and "The Originals" season 4. After all, both shows will be taking place in separate timelines.

"The Vampire Diaries" season 8 will premiere on The CW on Oct. 21 at 8 p.m. ET.
