"Castle" alum Nathan Fillion recently said that he wants to star in a "Spectrum" movie with his "Con-Man" co-star Alan Tudyk.
While at the 2016 San Diego Comic Con, the actor was asked what he will be up to in the next couple of months. Now that "Castle" has been cancelled by ABC, Fillion said that he has more free time.
"We have been talking about, thinking about, what if, in the future, we could do an actual, real-life 'Spectrum' movie.' We're really actually toying with the idea. I don't know how much of a reality, but we're throwing the idea around," he said.
According to Entertainment Weekly, "Con-Man" follows the life of a man named Wray Nerely (Tudyk) who starred in a short-lived sci-fi TV series called "Spectrum."
Wray's "Spectrum" co-star Jack Moore (Fillion) played the role of the spaceship's captain. However, when Jack went to Hollywood, he became a big star and Wray just lagged behind him.
While speaking with the publication, Tudyk said that his character is at that point in his life when he is not very happy or content.
"He doesn't appreciate his life. He's got some learning to do," he said.
In other news, the co-stars also talked about "Con-Man" — a project that was created through an Indiegogo campaign.
According to the actors, there will be a slew of guest stars that will appear in the movie, namely: Lou Ferrigno, Tyler Labine, Henry Rollins, Felicia Day, Nolan North, Amy Acker and Laura Vandervoort.
"All bit parts are people you recognize from different sci-fi shows. 'Con-Man' is steeped in meta," Fillion said.
Other than the upcoming release of "Con-Man" season 2, fans are also awaiting the launch of a mobile game scheduled for Aug. 24. At present, a novel inspired by "Con-Man" is also in the works.
"Con-Man" season 2 will be released on the Comic-Con HQ this fall.
