Xiaomi has just unveiled the Redmi Pro, the Chinese company's newest smartphone and the first to feature a dual-lens camera system.

The Xiaomi Redmi Pro comes with a full metal body and a 5.5-inch full HD 1080p OLED display. Underneath, it comes with a deca-core MediaTek X20/X25 processor, and it can be configured to have a maximum of 4GB of RAM with 128GB of internal storage.

Overall, the smartphone looks like a premium flagship device. However, the Helio X25 processor may not be as powerful as the Snapdragon 820, Qualcomm's chip that's considered the standard for high-end devices.

The handset also comes with a fingerprint sensor up front, a generous 4,050 mAh battery and a dual-lens camera system on the back. What's fascinating about the dual cameras is that they don't feature the same sensors.

One of the cameras has a 13-megapixel Sony sensor, while the other has a 5-megapixel Samsung sensor, according to CNET. When a user takes a photo, the Redmi Pro combines the data from both sensors to produce a well-exposed photo.

The combination of the two cameras also allows users to play around with the depth of field or background blur of a photo. This means that users can adjust the amount of blur present in a photo after taking it.

The camera also has manual controls that lets users adjust the blur before taking a photo. Users will simply have to tap on a small button above the shutter to adjust the aperture.

Other features include fast charging via USB Type-C, an IR blaster, so users can control their TVs using the phone and it runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

The Redmi Pro is scheduled to be released on August 6, but it looks like it will only be available in China, for now. The basic configuration, Helio X20/3GB RAM/32GB storage, will sell for 1,499 yuan (around $225), while the highest-end version will sell for 1,999 yuan (around $300), according to Mashable.
