Startup company Mobvoi began a Kickstarter campaign on Tuesday for the Ticwatch 2, the company's new Android smartwatch.

Mobvoi is based in Beijing and is currently being backed by Google, according to CNN. The company is less than a year old but has already released the first Ticwatch in China last year.

With the Ticwatch 2, Mobvoi has decided to go to Kickstarter to deliver it to global consumers.

"When we launched Ticwatch first generation for the Chinese market last year, the media immediately noticed the Ticwatch for its quality and innovation," Mobvoi explained on its Kickstarter page. "People from around the world began asking if we could release a full English edition. That was when we made the decision to not only make an English edition, but to bring a fully localized, English Ticwear OS, with English voice interaction, to global users."

The demand for the Ticwatch 2 is so high that Mobvoi was able to reach its Kickstarter goal of $50,000 in just 10 minutes, according to 9To5Toys.

The Ticwatch 2 comes with a 1.4-inch OLED touchscreen display, which users can set to always be on.

The outer shell of the watch is made of polycarbonate material, while the device itself has a dust-resistant certification of IP65.

It comes with an optical heart sensor, proximity sensor, accelerometer and gyroscope. Inside, it is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core MTK MT2601 processor with 512MB RAM and 4GB storage.

The Ticwatch 2 also has GPS, Bluetooth 4.1, wi-fi, a microphone and speaker. Overall, the device is complete with all the necessary features of a high-end smartwatch, minus the expensive price tag.

Even with all those bells and whistles, Mobvoi has also included some features that create a unique and complete Android smartwatch experience.

The Ticwatch 2's side functions in a similar manner as the Apple Watch's Digital Crown. Users will simply need to slide their finger on the side of the Ticwatch 2 in order to zoom in or out, adjust the volume and scroll up or down across the user interface.

The Ticwatch 2 comes with Ticwatch OS, Mobvoi's proprietary operating system that runs on top of Android. It supports voice controls and swipe gestures.

Ticwatch OS also comes with the Ticwatch App Store, which already has apps for services like Uber, Yelp and Google Fit.

Speaking of Google Fit, users will also be able to synchronize their fitness levels on the app to stay organized.

Finally, the Ticwatch 2 is compatible with both iOS (8 or later) and Android (4.3 or later).

People who have pledged $139 or more on Mobvoi's Kickstarter campaign will get their Ticwatch 2 by September.

The $99 "sport version" will retail at $200 when the Kickstarter campaign ends.
