Marvel dropped many Easter Eggs at the San Diego Comic-Con 2016. One of them was about "Spider-Man: Homecoming," the rebooted version of the web-slinging superhero. So far, all we knew about the movie before Comic-Con was that it stars Tom Holland as the titular web-crawler, Zendaya Coleman, Michael Keaton, Donald Glover, Marisa Tomei and Robert Downey Jr.
The film's director, Jon Watts, and the rest of the cast revealed many spoilers at the panel. Here are three of them:
3. Zendaya plays Michelle, Spider-Man's potential love interest
Watts only revealed the first names of characters of some of the cast members to Entertainment Weekly. Zendaya plays Michelle, Tony Revolori plays Flash, Laura Harrier plays Liz, and Jacob Batalon plays Ned.
When these names are compared to their comic book counterparts, one can get an idea of the character they play. For example, IGN reports that the Spiderman comics feature a girl named Michele Gonzales who becomes romantically involved with Peter Parker. Similarly, a girl named Liz appears in the web-slinger's comic series as a popular girl in high school.
The comics also feature a character named Ned Leeds who is a Daily Bugle reporter.
However, bear in mind that Watts hasn't confirmed whether any of these characters are directly related to their comic book counterparts.
2. Tony Revolori plays Flash Thompson
Perhaps the biggest spoiler is that "The Grand Budapest Hotel" actor, Tony Revolori, plays Flash Thompson. "I'm [Peter Parker's] bully and I don't know how cool he is," Revolori told EW, "but when we call cut, I'm just like, 'Ah! you're so cool.'"
1. Concept art confirms Vulture is the villain
Although reports suggest that Michael Keaton will play the villain Vulture, Marvel at least confirmed that Vulture is the main villain in "Spider-Man: Homecoming" through its concept art.
