"Teen Wolf" is ending after season 6, and its lead star Tyler Posey is okay with it.

During an interview with TVLine at San Diego Comic-Con last week, the 24-year-old actor, who plays Scott McCall on the MTV series, revealed how he reacted when he learned about the news.

"It is the last season of 'Teen Wolf,' but it's not sad," Posey said. "For me, the second I heard the news. I wasn't overcome with joy, but I had peace, so much peace was in me, and happiness, looking back on everything that we've done as a cast, as a show, as an entity, at Comic-Con and just in people's lives in general."

He continued, "There's not a lot of shows that can say they've done that and made 100 episodes and remained friends and are going to go on to bigger and better things. There's been no negativity. It was a little bit bittersweet. I am going to bawl my eyes out, but they're all happy tears."

Showrunner Jeff Davis added that ending the show after its 100th episode is "a good place to finish." "The network and I were in total agreement on 100 episodes," he revealed. "I'm still shocked that we made to a hundred. I used to think we'd only do 40 or 50. That would be amazing for a cable show."

During the show's panel at the pop convention, Davis said (via The Hollywood Reporter): "Teen Wolf has been an extraordinary journey, one that captured the hearts and imaginations of fans more than we could've ever imagined. We're eternally grateful for the support we've received over these past six years and we're excited to take our brave fans on one last, thrilling adventure."

While onstage at Comic-Con, Posey's co-star Holland Roden (Lydia) added, "I grew up with this gang of boys basically during my entire 20s... and it's been the craziest ride. I probably wouldn't be acting if it wasn't for this show."
