The cast and producers of "Legends of Tomorrow" hit the stage at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday and revealed several big changes to the "Arrow" - "The Flash" spinoff series when it returns for its second season this fall. Below are nine things we learned from the show's panel:
1. The Legends will battle the Legion of Doom.
The show's iteration of Legion of Doom is made up of the Reverse-Flash/Eobard Thawne (Matt Letscher), Captain Cold/Leonard Snart (Wentworth Miller), Malcolm Merlyn/The Dark Archer (John Barrowman) and Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough).
Letscher will be a series regular in season 2, while McDonough will recur. Miller and Barrowman, meanwhile, are series regulars across all DC superhero shows on The CW.
"For season 2 of Legends, we decided that the perfect antagonist for TV's first-ever team of Super Heroes would be TV's first-ever team of Super-Villains," executive producer Marc Guggenheim said in a statement, "recruited from the ranks of 'Arrow' and 'The Flash's' deadliest adversaries. Being huge fans of the Challenge of the Superfriends, we've come to call this group our 'Legion of Doom.'"
2. The Legends are getting some help from Justice Society of America.
The new group of Time Masters headed by Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) will find an ally in the Justice Society of America. In addition to Rex Tyler/Hourman (Patrick J. Adams) -- whom the Legends met at the end of the season 1 finale -- Stargirl, Dr. Mid-Nite and Obsidian are also members of the superhero group. The three mentioned characters are currently being cast.
3. Sara wants to get revenge on Malcolm and Damien.
"I'm excited because Sara [Caity Lotz] really wants to kill these people," Lotz said during the panel when asked what she feels about Malcolm and Damien joining the show. "[Malcolm] killed me, and Damien Darhk [killed Sara's sister Laurel Lance] ... I'm very excited to get my hands on him."
4. Oliver Queen will make an appearance.
Stephen Amell will make an appearance as Star City mayor Oliver Queen within the first few minutes of the season premiere.
5. Rory is going to be more outrageous.
With his partner Captain Cold gone, "Rory [Dominic Purcell] this year is going to be even more outrageous than he was last year," Purcell said during the panel.
6. There's a big twist involving Rip.
Darvill revealed during the panel that there's a "big twist with [Rip] quite early on [and] that changes everything."
7. Jonah Hex will return.
Jonathan Schaech will reprise his role as Jonah Hex in episode 6.
8. Season 2 has a more serious tone.
"It's going to be much more serious," showrunner Phil Klemmer said of how season 2 will be different from the show's freshman run. "Season 2 is predicated much more on mysteries. Instead of one bad guy, they are responsible for [taking down multiple villains]."
9. Kendra and Carter might return.
Guggenheim teased that Ciara Renée and Falk Hentschel might reprise their roles as Kendra Saunders/Hawkgirl and Carter Hall/Hawkman, who were written off at the end of season 2.
"We haven't finished telling the story of the hawks yet," Guggenheim said, adding that he was emailing with Renée and Hentschel last week. "With the right timing and the right story, we'd love to see more of Kendra and Carter."
