"Teen Wolf" fans will be bidding farewell to Scott (Tyler Posey) and his pack and to the whole Beacon Hills at the end of the upcoming season 6 of the MTV series.

Showrunner Jeff Davis announced on Thursday, July 21, during the series' San Diego Comic-Con panel, that the forthcoming installment will be the show's last. Season 6 will premiere its 20-episode run in November and will conclude in 2017 with its 100th episode serving as a series finale.

"Teen Wolf has been an extraordinary journey, one that captured the hearts and imaginations of fans more than we could've ever imagined," said Davis (via The Hollywood Reporter). "We're eternally grateful for the support we've received over these past six years and we're excited to take our brave fans on one last, thrilling adventure."

"I know we're sad about it and it's bittersweet but we're so happy to be able to come to Comic-Con and share it with you guys," Davis added (via Entertainment Weekly), before giving the show's lead star Posey a hug.

Posey's co-star Holland Roden (Lydia) added, "I grew up with this gang of boys basically during my entire 20s... and it's been the craziest ride. I probably wouldn't be acting if it wasn't for this show."

Besides Posey and Roden, other cast members who were part of the panel were Dylan Sprayberry (Liam), Cody Christian (Theo) and Khylin Rhambo (Mason).

As expected, loyal "Teen Wolf" fans were saddened by the news.

"I am devastated, the best think on TV, and I am no teenager!" one TVLine reader commented.

Another reader shared: "I love the teen wolf show and I am extremely sad about the best show to be ending! I personally don't think the show should be ending, but everyone knows the characters are going to be remembered and revered! I think this last season, however sad, is going to end with excitement and sadness [sic] once the final episode is over."

Others, however, were not surprised by the decision. In fact, there are some who think that the decision to end the series after season 6 would be best for the show.

"Honestly not surprised," one fan wrote. "I always enjoyed the show, despite the ridiculousness, but I could barely make myself watch this season. I hope the final season will be back to its old entertaining self, and that the finale is not infuriating."

"This is probably the best decision for the show," wrote another commenter. "The ratings have been going down and most of the cast members seem to want to move on. It's better they end it now than continue it past its prime like so many other teen dramas."
