Fans have long awaited the return of Starz's hit series "Power," and the action-packed, drama-filled season three premiere was certainly well worth the wait.
The show picks up right where it left off at the end of season two with a bruised up James "Ghost" St. Patrick adjusting to life outside of the drug run he was once leader of and enjoying his new clean role as the owner of Truth nightclub.
However, as the episode continued and more problems arrived at Truth's doorsteps, it became very clear that it would take a lot more than a fight with Kanan and an allegedly dead Lobos to get Ghost out of the game.
Check out the top four most shocking moments from the first episode of "Power" season three below:
4. Ghost is James now: James was very serious when he said that "Ghost is dead" at the end of last season, and when the show starts fans get to see a new legitimatized Ghost operating solely under his real name, James St. Patrick. While it's kind of weird to hear the former drug kingpin go by his first name throughout the episode, it seems to be the first step James must take to convince his girlfriend Angela (and maybe himself) that he's completely parted ways with his old life. However, it becomes more clear throughout the episode that James' alter-ego will be harder to break away from than expected.
3. Angela is ready to move forward: Now that the nightclub owner has officially removed himself from the drug ring and his ex Tasha, Angie's ready to take their relationship to the next level, i.e. meet James' children. She even reveals to James her plans to move to a new department, which would only help James keep the secret of his past as Ghost buried in the grave.
2. Tommy is in charge: With Ghost gone, it seems that Tommy is the new big man in charge, a responsibility his girlfriend Holly is elated to see come to fruition for her man. The only problem is that Tommy knows that Lobos isn't as dead as everyone else thought, and in order for him to claim Ghost's former throne as his own, Lobos instructs he must kill Ghost. If Tommy doesn't, then Los won't supply him with the drugs necessary to keep his little empire afloat.
1. James is still Ghost: In typical Tommy fashion, his new title seems to go straight to his head, which causes problems for many of the workers who are still incredibly loyal to Ghost. After Tommy gets into a power trip fueled altercation with a few random drug dealers, Ghost's top street dealer, Julio, who just so happened to see the whole ordeal, heads to Truth nightclub to talk to Ghost himself. Of course this doesn't go over well with Angela, and after he eases her mind by explaining that not all of his former drug organization's members really believe he's out of the game, she comes clean and tells him that Lobos is still alive and she thinks that Jimenez planned the attacks on their empire. He comforts his love as she tells him that he's "safe" now and confirms that "Ghost really is dead." However, shortly after their conversation James is seen making a phone call to none other than his estranged besite Tommy. "We need to talk man. It's Ghost," he says. Maybe Ghost isn't as dead as James or Angela thought?
*Bonus: With Ghost no longer in charge, the dead bodies just keep turning up left and right. Not to mention, Tommy's beloved dog gets murdered, which he takes as a warning from Lobos. However, if you caught the "Power" season three trailer, then you may have an idea that another one of Ghost and Tommy's biggest enemies isn't as dead as they thought. We don't doubt that he's out for more than just Ghost's blood.
