'Containment' CW Recap: Top Moments In Episode 12 'Yes Is The Only Living Thing'

The CW's "Containment" aired its penultimate episode. After speculating whether Katie died or not last week, the medical thriller finally confirmed viewers' doubts — she is, in fact, dead.

However, her death wasn't in vain. It helped Dr. Cannerts discover a vaccine. Read a quick recap of season 1, episode 12, titled "Yes Is The Only Living Thing," below:

3. Jake loses Katie and ... Quentin?

Jake and Quentin are understandably devastated after losing Katie. The police officer tries to drown his sorrows with bourbon at the ganglord's store. When he goes to his store, he chances upon Jana and Sam who are rustling up $5,000 for a chance to escape the cordon.

It is then that Jake remembers his promise to Katie — get her son Quentin out of the cordon somehow. He ditches his bourbon and heads to the morgue to pawn jewelry from dead people. It's enough to get Quintin out of the cordon.

Jake has to stay because word is out on the street that Dr. Cannerts created the virus. People are out to kill him even though he is close to developing a vaccine.

2. Teresa, Xander and their baby also try to breach the cordon

Teresa, Xander and her baby head to her grandmother's house since it's the only safe and familiar place she knows. Unfortunately, her grandma's wound is infected and they have no food.

The grandmother urges Teresa to breach the cordon by handing her a set of pearls. It's enough to book a passage for all three of them to leave the fence.

Meanwhile, Jana and Suzy also get their hands on an expensive jewelry to fund their escape.

1. Lommers admits to Lex that she helped create the virus

It seemed a bit odd that Major Lex didn't record his conversation with Lommers when she admitted to creating the virus. She shrugged his accusations by saying that the only thing they need to fight now is the virus, not each other.

Unfortunately, the national guards and policemen quickly learned that someone escaped the cordon. They shot that person. Now Jana, Suzy, Quentin, Teresa, Xander and her baby are headed through that same route. Will Lex kill Jana when he sees her outside the cordon?

"Containment" airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on The CW.
