Mike (Patrick J. Adams) won't have an easy time in prison.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly at ATX Television Festival, Adams revealed that Mike will find himself in a dangerous situation when "Suits" season 6 premieres next week.
"A threat sort of comes along, and he's forced into a situation where he needs to start defending himself and coming up with a game plan of how to protect himself over the long haul," Adams said. "So, he's activated by having something he needs to do."
While the 34-year-old Canadian actor didn't specify what the threat is during his chat with Entertainment Weekly, the SAG-nominated actor revealed what actually it is during his separate interview with Hollywood Life at the same festival.
"There's no time jump. Mike's fully in prison," Adams told the website when asked where the show picks up after the events of the season 5 finale. "Everyone was sort of hoping for [a time jump], I think because they don't like the idea of him in prison, but he's in there. For this season, we're dealing with the ramifications of what happened. Mike is trying to survive in there."

"There's some serious threats," he continued. "People in prison have a history with Harvey Specter [Gabriel Macht] and see an opportunity to get back at him through me. So, I'm doing my best trying to figure out how to survive."
Despite Mike's difficult time in prison, Adams doesn't think that his character regrets coming clean.
"He did what he had to do," he told Hollywood Life. "Mike is a moral character, and he made the choice to save himself and save his friends. At some point in time, someone would have to pay the price of that. It's interesting how people take that information, they call him an idiot on Twitter! I'm like, you're missing the point where he actually committed the crime. Sometimes you need to pay the price in order to move on with your own life. I think that's the case here -- and to save your friends."
"Suits" season 6 premieres on Wednesday, July 13 at 9 p.m. on USA Network. Check out the promo clips for the new season below:
