It's safe to assume that Zayn Malik didn't want to have a Twitter spat on the topic of race, but he was kind of lured into it.
The brief back-and-forth began when someone posted a photo of the singer's face, along with Justin Bieber's, Taylor Swift's, and Kim Kardashian's.
"Meanwhile, these non-black celebrities who use black culture to their benefit haven't addressed police brutality," someone wrote.
That's when the former One Direction member blasted back.
"Meanwhile, I'm brown myself and understand it's nothing to do with police brutality. It's about minority's equality," he wrote.
Right away, some took offense to Malik's comment and thought he dismissed the issue of police brutality as a whole.
"I've been excusing his a-- forever, but this is too much," one person wrote. "It's exactly about police brutality. Mind your own d---n business if you on some all-lives-matter type s---."
"Love humans," Z simply tweeted back, and then he decided to leave the conversation entirely.
But out of the four celebs that were used to make that Twitter user's point, Kim Kardashian actually did speak on the shootings of two black men in the cities of Baton Rouge, La. and Falcon Heights, Minn.
"This week we watched Alton Sterling and Philando Castile, two innocent black men, get senselessly murdered by police officers," she wrote. "Like a lot of you guys, I watched the video and was appalled and completely heartbroken."
Kim then went on to say that she's concerned for her son and worries that he too may have a run-in with police due to the color of his skin. At the same time, however, she denounced the violence that was committed against the Dallas officers and said peace is the strongest weapon people can use.
"The last thing we need is to fuel anger with more hate or violence," wrote Kardashian. "Especially toward the many incredible police officers who risk their lives every single day to protect our families and communities."
