Scott McCall (Tyler Posey) is staying single in the upcoming season 6 of "Teen Wolf."

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Posey and showrunner Jeff Davis revealed that the True Alpha won't have any girlfriend when the supernatural series returns to MTV.

"It was something I've always been interested in because from the very first episode of 'Teen Wolf' he falls in love with Allison [Crystal Reed] and then they break up and he immediately meets Kira [Arden Cho] so there wasn't really much single time for Scott," said Posey, who has also been single since his split with fiancée Seana Gorlick in 2014.

"In my experience, in Tyler Posey's world, it's kind of always been that way too," the 24-year-old actor shared. "This is the first two years I'm really single, so I relate to it with Scott and I thought it was something that every person has to go through in their life, grow on their own and really figure out who they are. That's kind of what's going on with Scott [when the show returns]."

Although Posey admitted that he loves to play Scott's romantic side, he said that keeping Scott single next season is going to be good for the character. Without any love life to think about, "he's able to focus on what he wants and not let anything get in the way," the actor said. "He's kind of a crazy puppy dog when he falls in love, kind of aimlessly wandering around, so it's good that he's not thinking of any girls right now. Keeps his eyes on the prize."

Davis revealed that the idea of keeping Scott single in season 6 surfaced when they realized that that show wasn't going to have Kira next installment. "We wanted to ask ourselves, 'Does Scott always need to have romance in his life to be a compelling character?'" Davis said. "We thought this might be a season where we don't see that side and we see him struggling a little bit."

Davis continued, "He's had two great romances: One was the very epic and tragic romance with Allison, and we wanted to do a sort of romantic comedy side with Kira. But this season sees Scott as a single guy just trying to graduate and be there for his friends while facing yet another supernatural crisis."

Last April, Cho announced via an emotional YouTube video that she's not reprising her role as Kira in season 6.

"I just want to say I love Kira Yukimura so much," the 30-year-old actress says in the clip. "I love the Yukimura family. I loved my experience on 'Teen Wolf.' I love the cast and crew, it's been an amazing three and a half years. It's gone by so fast. But unfortunately, it looks like we are wrapped up with Kira's storyline and she won't be coming back for season 6."
