Nintendo and Niantic's augmented reality game, "Pokemon GO," is finally here. Mobile gamers around New Zealand, Australia and Japan are already enjoying the game which should be available in North America soon. If you've managed to download the game, here are five tips to help you out on your journey.
1. Save Your Battery
This is the most important tip when it comes to playing "Pokemon Go." While some people have reported normal battery usage, others say the game is a battery killer. You can turn off sound and augmented reality in the game to save battery life. Also, if you're not playing on Wi-Fi, make sure to turn it off, or your phone will be constantly searching for a signal.
2. Capture All Nearby Pokemon
If you're just getting started with the game, there will be plenty of Pokemon you have yet to capture. Even though you may not want to capture some of them, it's best if you do. You will be given XP and Candy for capturing Pokemon, and Candy is very important in the game to help your Pokemon evolve.
3. Look For Pokestops
You may just want to capture Pokemon but also be on the lookout for Pokestops. Travelling to Pokestops will allow you to get Pokeballs, Eggs, Potions and more.
4. Save Your Masterballs
If you've played Pokemon before, you know that Masterballs give you a greater chance at capturing rarer, more experienced Pokemon. While you may want to use your Masterball to quickly capture that Pokemon near your house, save the ball for the Legendary Pokemon.
5. Travel To Find More Pokemon
"Pokemon Go" is all about exploring the world around you. Sure, you'll find some normal and grass type Pokemon around your house but if you want to find other types, go out and explore. Head near a body of water to find water-type Pokemon. Go out at night for nocturnal Pokemon. If you do go out to explore, be aware of your surroundings and stay safe.
