If there's anyone who's a complete enigma in hip-hop, it's Jay Electronica, because he hardly does interviews, he doesn't do extended tours and he doesn't even release a lot of music.
In fact, ever since dropping his "Act 1: Eternal Sunshine (The Pledge)" mixtape, and he signed to Jay Z's Roc Nation, the New Orleans spitter's career has been at a standstill pretty much, which is clearly unfortunate.
But that may all change very soon, because he just dropped a few hints that his highly anticipated "Act II: Patents Of Nobility" album might be coming out shortly.
"Every great magic trick consists of three parts or acts," tweeted Jay. "The first part is called 'The Pledge.' The magician shows you something ordinary: A deck of cards, a bird or a man. He shows you this object. Perhaps he asks you to inspect it to see if it is indeed real, unaltered, normal but of course it probably isn't."
"The second act is called 'The Turn.' This is where the magician takes the ordinary something and makes it do something extraordinary," he added.
The "Exhibit C" creator then told folks to get Jay Z's streaming service Tidal, which could be considered the biggest hint that a new album is on its way. He also issued a brief apology to his fans.
"To all those who have been patient with me and supported me over the years, thank you," wrote Jay Elec. "And get Tidal. Are you watching closely?"
Yes we are, Mr. Electronica, now go ahead and drop that album already.
