Waka Flocka Flame Says Lyrical Hip-Hop Is Over, Here's Why He Sounds So Ridiculous

Have you ever noticed that the rappers who say lyrical hip-hop is over have never been lyrical? Which means their opinion holds very little weight.
It's like in basketball. If a person who can't dunk says dunking isn't fashionable anymore, you have to wonder if he or she is saying that because they'll never be able to slam a ball through a 10-foot hoop.
Anyway, Waka Flocka is the latest rapper to say people don't like clever rhyming anymore, even though folks like J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Lil Wayne, Eminem, Joey Bada$$ and a number of other MCs sell out shows just about every time they play.
"People got the most excuses when they can't get no money and when they're not winning," said Waka in an interview with Acton Entertainment. "These n----- rapping about pancakes, and they mad n----- don't want to eat no breakfast. It's dinner time, n----. Shut the f--- up ... That s--- is over with."
"All that clever rapping. It's here, but that ain't what entertains people today. It ain't that they don't wanna hear that s---. It's just not what's popping right now."
Thank you for speaking for all music fans, Waka.
Again, if somebody like Nas, Jay Electronica, Drake, Rick Ross, Chance The Rapper or Nicki Minaj shared that same opinion, it would probably be taken a lot more seriously, since they're actually lyrical. But when someone like Waka says it — who rhymes in a predictable ABC, 123 style — it looks like sheer hate.
