The Collective Design Fair kicks off New York City's two-week-long international design and art extravaganza, NYCxDesign.

The fair is held at Skylight Clarkson Sq and presents an unrivaled group of established and emerging designers and artists. The show hosts some of today's leading gallery collections as well as site-specific installations that push the boundaries of contemporary design.

In its fourth consecutive year, Collective continues to bring together designers, architects, gallerists, collectors and creative enthusiasts alike to grow and educate the design community. The fair will run through Sunday, May 8.

Fair

FAIR focuses on superior, handcrafted design-driven works that evoke an organic minimalist aesthetic. The brand represents various furniture, lighting and decorative object designers. Currently, we are especially drawn to the handmade wood sculptures, or wood vessels, by Joshua Vogel.

Etage Projects

Copenhagen-based platform for designers, artists and architects - Etage Projects - presents the exclusive new "Hue Collection" designed by Dutch/New Zealand designer Sabine Marcelis in collaboration with Brit van Nerven. The collection is comprised of neon lights, colored glass mirrors and gloss cubes. We also love this gold chair designed by Guillermo Santomà.

                                                 R&Company

R&Company represents historical leading designers and today's most innovative contemporary artists. These one-of-a-kind, hand-thrown porcelain vases are designed by The Haas Brothers. Known as the "Accretion Vases," each ceramic sculpture is unique and we are drawn to the stunning details and vibrant colors that remind us of something you would discover in the ocean's wild life.

Fernando Mastrangelo Studio

Designer Fernando Mastrangelo presents his latest series "Drift." A collection of seating designs and a mirror that are each comprised of cast sand and inspired by natural earth formations and glaciers. Drift is a distinct, imaginative representation of Earth's natural elements, while also showcasing Mastrangelo's quintessential design approach of intermixing indoor and outdoor materials together to create works that result in a refined aesthetic.

Maison Gerard

Maison Gerard never fails to present a collection of top-quality, jaw-dropping antique and contemporary works -- a booth we eagerly look forward to at various Manhattan shows. The bold works of Andy Diaz Hope were highlighted for this year's Collective Design Fair. A wall display featured Hope's mirrored sculptures, inspired by geological formations, beautifully reflect light and color from their surroundings.
