2ne1 Ex-Member Minzy Chooses New Agency, To Join Baek Ji Young's Company Music Works

2ne1's former member Minzy has now found a new agency.

Minzy, 22, has reportedly finally decided on a new company after leaving YG Entertainment last month, according to Sports Donga (via Soompi).

The singer has decided to sign with Music Works, which is also home to singers Baek Ji Young, Yoo Seung Eun and other artists.

Though the deal hasn't been finalized yet, Minzy has reportedly chosen Music Works out of the many agencies she had discussions with over the past few weeks.

“The contract hasn’t been signed yet but it seems like [she] has made Music Works [her] decision," the insider told the news outlet (via Soompi).

Music Works recently released a statement regarding rumors of Minzy joining the company, revealing that the former 2ne1 member indeed discussed signing with them.

“It’s true that we recently met with Minzy to discuss an exclusive contract, but a contract has yet to be officially signed," stated Music Works.

Meanwhile, Minzy posted an Instagram message for her fans on Thursday, apologizing for her seemingly abrupt departure from 2ne1 and expressing her gratitude towards her loyal fans.

"Hello, this is Minzy," she wrote in the Instagram post. "It is with a sincere heart that I write to you all. First, I would like to apologize to all those who expressed shock at the news of my departure. It is after careful consideration and much deliberation that I have decided to pursue a new journey as an artist named Minzy Kong."

"Ever since debuting with 2NE1 at the young age of 16, I have been grateful for the wonderful memories I shared with incredible fans worldwide. These experiences were undeniably precious and I take none of them for granted. Thank you all for helping me grow as an artist," her letter continued.

"I promise to work even harder to return before you all with an improved and more honest version of myself," she said. "Through a renewed vision and hard work, I hope to reciprocate the love, dedication, and support that you have shown me. Thank you to all the fans, family, and friends who have shown me their love and concern. I promise to return soon. Love, Minzy."
