'Arrow' Episode 4.18 Showrunner Marc Guggenheim Speaks On Major Character Death, Fan Backlash

(Photo : Facebook/Arrow) Marc Guggenheim recently discussed the major character death scheduled for episode 18 of "Arrow" season 4.

"Arrow" showrunner Marc Guggenheim will make a lot of fans very upset when a major character dies in episode 18 of season 4. In a recent interview, Guggenheim said the "Arrow" writers have never made decisions with the purpose of appeasing fans, so the backlash isn't his biggest concern.

"We've always you know, made know bones about the fact that we are telling our own version of the Green Arrow mythos," Guggenheim said on Monday (via ComicBook.com). "Green Arrow has had so many different interpretations over the years that we never felt you know beholden to one particular interpretation, and this is our interpretation, like it or not, and I recognize that there are plenty of people up and down my Twitter feed who do not like it. Totally respect that."

Fans have been wondering which major "Arrow" character would die ever since a tearful Oliver Queen stood in front of someone's grave in the first episode of the season. Over the last few weeks clues have leaked onto the Internet, and predictably, fans have been pretty upset.

The latest leaked bit of "evidence" suggests that Laurel Lance will be the one who kicks the bucket in Wednesday's episode of "Arrow" ("Eleven-Fifty-Nine). The image of a gravestone marked "Dinah Laurel Lance" left fans with little doubt about which character they would be saying goodbye too.

The CW picture hasn't made a comment on the picture, but we don't see why it would be a fake. We'll have to watch "Eleven-Fifty-Nine" on Wednesday night to know for certain. Be sure to check out Design & Trend for more "Arrow" updates!
