Zaha Hadid Dies At 65: World-Renowed Architect Suffered A Heart Attack

The star British architect Zaha Hadid passed away at the age of 65 on Thursday, March 31.
The Royal Gold Medal winner was being treated for bronchitis in a hospital in Miami and had a sudden heart attack.
Hadid founded her architecture practice in London in 1979 and, today, employs over 400 people worldwide. The Iraq-born designer has commissioned buildings around the globe, and was the first woman to receive the Royal Institute of British Architects Gold Medal. She also won the Stirling Prize in 2010 and 2011 for her MAXXI Museum in Rome and the Evelyn Grace Academy in London.
Hadid's legendary works include the Heydar Aliyev Cultural Center, the London Aquatics Centre, which was built for the London Olympics, the Vitra Fire Station, the Sheikh Zayed Bridge in Abu Dhabi, the Guangzhou Opera House, the Bridge Pavilion in Zaragoza and many others.
