One Direction News: Ross Harris Comments On Liam Payne And Cheryl Fernandez-Versini's Age Gap

Liam Payne's cousin Ross Harris thinks that the 10-year age gap between the One Direction member and his new girlfriend Cheryl Fernandez-Versini is a "little bit weird."

However, in a recent interview with New! Magazine, Harris said that he can see why Payne, 22, fell for Fernandez-Versini, 32.

"I think she's every young lad's type," the former "The Voice UK" contestant said (via The Sun) of the "The X Factor UK" judge.

Harris also finds it a bit funny that his cousin's relationship doesn't reflect those that his One Direction bandmates are currently in.

"It's quite funny that the other One Direction guys are dating really young models and he's gone for the mature relationship -- but she still looks like a model," Harris said. "He's done well! She's obviously very famous and very nice looking."

Asked if he thinks the romance between the two is just for publicity, Harris said: "I don't think their relationship is for publicity just because they've been seen holding hands and going to restaurants -- unless they're having fun with the media and fooling everyone, which would actually be quite funny."

Meanwhile, Fernandez-Versini reportedly begged Payne, to stop partying with his bandmate Louis Tomlinson while they're working on their new music together in Los Angeles.

Fernandez-Versini and Payne -- who went public with their romance earlier this month -- flew out to Los Angeles two weeks ago, and she is reportedly eager to avoid any distractions while they work on their music collaboration.

"Cheryl's been in the studio working on new music practically every day and night since she arrived in LA," a source told Heat magazine. "She's begged Liam to do the same. They're writing songs together, and she told Liam they'll get a lot more done if he avoids 'bad influence' Louis Tomlinson."

However, when The Mirror asked Fernandez-Versini's camp for comments about the news, her rep simply said: "It's not true, it's a ridiculous story."
