Barry (Grant Gustin) is going to meet a new doppelganger before season 2 of "The Flash" ends.

Team Flash has not seen any new doppelgangers since Barry, Cisco (Carlos Valdes) and Dr. Wells (Tom Cavanagh) returned from their Earth-2 trip, but that will no longer be the case come the episode 22 of the season.

"We have a really, exciting, fun doppelganger coming up in the penultimate episode of 'The Flash," executive producer Andrew Kreisberg teased to Entertainment Weekly on Thursday afternoon, March 24, after a press screening of the much anticipated crossover episode between CBS' "Supergirl" and The CW's "The Flash."

Speaking of the team-up episode and familiar faces, Kreisberg's fellow executive producer Greg Berlanti was asked if Barry will meet any doppelgangers of people from his Earth in "Supergirl's" universe, and his answer: Not in the crossover.

"We just talked about that recently, [but] there is room [for that], absolutely," Berlanti said.

In other "The Flash" news, TVLine reported that Barry's father, Henry (John Wesley Shipp), is set to return to Central City before the season wraps up.

Henry was last seen in episode 7 ("Gorilla Warfare") of the season where Barry went up against Grodd for the second time after the non-human metahuman kidnapped Caitlin (Danielle Panaaker).

In the season premiere, much to the confusion of a lot of viewers, Henry left Central City just hours after he was freed from Iron Heights.

"We were really conscious of not wanting to repeat ourselves," Kreisberg told Entertainment Weekly last October of why they had decided to send Henry away from his son. "Freeing Henry gave us part of the Harrison Wells [Tom Cavanagh] story for the beginning of the year, which is that even though he's been erased from existence and couldn't be more dead, he still got the last laugh."

"The Flash" next episode, titled "Flash Back," airs on Tuesday, March 28, at 8 p.m. on The CW. Check out the synopsis and trailer for season 2, episode 17 below!

"Barry becomes determined to get back to Earth-2 to stop Zoom, but he realizes he needs to increase his speed. He travels back in time and masquerades as his earlier self to get his arch-nemesis Dr. Harrison to teach him how to run faster. But while there, Barry faces familiar foe Hartley Rathaway [Andy Mientus] and old friend Eddie Thawne [Rick Cosnett]."
