"American Horror Story" co-creator Ryan Murphy revealed at PaleyFest on Sunday night, March 20, that the theme for the upcoming season 6 of the FX series is still undecided as they are mulling over two different ideas that they will decide upon soon.

"The interesting thing about this season is we've been working on two ideas at once, which we've never done," Murphy said at the panel, according to Entertainment Weekly. "I don't want to say what it is, but I will tell you that every darling person up here that wants to come back can come back."

Cast members who were present during the panel were Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Denis O'Hare, Matt Bomer, Wes Bentley, Cheyenne Jackson, Finn Wittrock and Angela Bassett, who confirmed her season 6 comeback in an interview with "Larry King Now" last February.

Although not present at PaleyFest, Lady Gaga confirmed during a Z100 radio interview earlier this month that she's returning for the next season.

"The show has always felt to me like an opera," Murphy continued at the panel. "Both things that we're writing right now -- we haven't yet declared the winner -- will have a different form than we've ever done, so we're excited about that. We'll talk about it soon, but we haven't landed on it."

When asked about including younger actors in season 5 ("Hotel"), Murphy said both potential ideas include children.

Whatever the season 6 theme would be, Murphy said that the new installment will further establish the interconnectedness among all seasons of the FX series.

"The deeper we go into the series we will see that it is a definite universe and all of the worlds are connected," Murphy said (via Variety).

Speaking at the Television Critics Association winter press tour in Pasadena, Calif., last January, FX Network president and general manager John Landgraf revealed to reporters (via Deadline) that season 6 will be "set in the present" with "echoes of the past" mixed in.

"It's set in two time periods but principally in the present," he said.

"American Horror Story" season 6 is expected to debut in the fall.
