Kendrick Lamar Takes Shots At Jay Electronica On 'Untitled 07/2014-2016'? 'Loosen Your Bra'
Did Kendrick Lamar respond to Jay Electronica and his recent disses?
It sure sounds like it, because on his newly released song "Untitled 07 / 2014 - 2016," K Dot seems to take a couple of shots at the Roc Nation artist, and he mentioned his lack of new music.
First, though, here's what Jay said about Kendrick in a YouTube clip late last month:
"Look, I like the one Kendrick song with Gunplay 'Cartoons and Cereal,' but other than that we don't know what n---- talking about ... Kendrick is my son. Kendrick is my baby. Kendrick wishes he could be me," he stated.
Then on his song "Curse of Mayweather," the New Orleans spitter seemed to blast K Dot for being heavily nominated at this year's Grammys.
"My grandmother died at 82 scrubbing floors / And n----- still running around begging for awards," he rhymed.
Which brings us to "Untitled 07 / 2014 - 2016," where Mr. Lamar seems to respond to both shots. He doesn't mention Electronica by name, but it's not hard to figure out who he's referring to.
"You n----- fear me like ya'll fear God / Ya'll sound frantic, I hear panic in your voice / Just know the mechanics of making your choice and writing your bars / Before you poke out your chest, loosen your bra / Before you step out of line and dance with the star / I can never end a career if it never starts," spit Kendrick.
That last line was an obvious reference to Electronica being signed for years without putting out a new album.
You can check out the song below, and it's likely the "Exhibit C" rhymer will eventually respond. By the looks of it, we could be on the cusp of a very entertaining and lyrical rap battle. Let's see what happens in the coming days.
