'The Walking Dead' Season 6 Episode 10: Carl, Enid, Michonne, Spencer Meet Zombified [SPOILER]

A departed character returns as one of the undead on this Sunday's episode of "The Walking Dead."

In a recent Facebook post, The Spoiling Dead Fans revealed that a zombified Deanna (Tovah Feldshuh) makes an appearance in the episode. The undead version of the former leader of Alexandria is first spotted by Carl (Chandler Riggs) and Enid (Katelyn Nacon), as the pair roam through the woods. When they encounter the walker, the identity of the zombie is not revealed, but it's obvious that the young Grimes doesn't want to kill it.

Later in the episode, Michonne (Danai Gurira) and Spencer (Austin Nichols) meet the same walker, as Carl deliberately lured the zombie into their direction. And that's when it is revealed that the walker is actually Spencer's mom.

In the trailer for the episode, Michonne tries to help Spencer in dealing with her zombie mom, but he refuses to enlist her assistance.

"Let me help you," Michonne tells Spencer, to which he replies, "You can't." So Spencer kills the walker and finds closure.

Michonne then asks Carl why he led the zombified Deanna to Spencer, and he says that Deanna deserved to be put down by someone who loved her, adding that he would do the same for Michonne.

Deanna severely injured herself while trying to save Rick (Andrew Lincoln) in the midseason finale. But instead of taking her own life or letting Michonne (Danai Gurira) kill her, she sacrificed the dignity of a bullet death for a more painful demise.

Deanna's return as a zombie was teased by a promo art released by AMC a month before the midseason premiere.

"The Walking Dead" season 6, episode 10, titled "The Next World," airs on Sunday, Feb. 21, at 9 p.m. on AMC. Check out the synopsis and promotional clips for the episode below:
