(Photo : Facebook/Suits) Here are five cool things that you probably didn't know about "Suits" actor Rick Hoffman.

If you are a fan of USA Network's "Suits," then you know exactly how the annoying yet lovable lawyer Louis Litt became a name partner at Pearson Specter Litt. But how much do you know about the actor who plays character? Below are five cool things that you probably didn't know about Rick Hoffman.

1. He worked as a waiter before landing his first breakout role.

Hoffman was waiting tables to get by while auditioning for various TV and film roles. But when he was cast in the role of Freddie Sacker on the Fox drama series "The $treet" in 2000, he quit his job and started to focus on his acting career.

In an interview with Backstage this past June, Hoffman revealed that working in restaurants was his worst survival job.

"Waking up at four in the morning to make bagels was pretty rough; that and working for many assholes in the restaurant business -- [were] very, very demeaning," he said at the time. "I was fired from nine waiting jobs. I think the biggest offense I had caused was I didn't have my pocket buttoned on my shirt. That's the kind of mentality we're talking about."

2. He's a dad.

Hoffman welcomed his first child, a son, in December 2014. Below is a photo of his son, which he posted on Instagram with the caption: "My heart and soul. My son."

3. He's allergic to cat.

Although his onscreen alter-ego loves cats, Hoffman is actually allergic to them. "I'm deathly allergic to cats so they've finally stopped putting them in the script," he told News Corp Australia Network in July. "Whatever happens next to Louis let's just say it doesn't involve a cat."

4. He's scared of doing vulnerable scenes.

"The vulnerable scenes [on 'Suits'], scare the s--t out of me," Hoffman admitted to Entertainment Weekly last year. "The real, raw, driven-to-tears type scenes have always scared me since I was very young working as an actor. And to this very day I get tremendously neurotic making sure nothing is forced or fake."

5. He has an acting crush on Kevin Kline, Gena Rowlands and Ryan Gosling.

"It would be a dream to get to work with an actor like Kevin Kline," Hoffman told Backstage. "And, oh man, Gena Rowlands. I apologize for not [saying] the hip, new actor out there. Although Ryan Gosling is someone I'd love to work with. I know it's important to know the kind of person you're working with, and I know for a fact that he's a good guy. We all know how a lot of actors out there are not exactly the kindest...."
