The retro-inspired Milanese space Bar Luce, designed by film director Wes Anderson, is the latest city hotspot. If you are captivated by Anderson's old-school aesthetic of the "Grand Budapest Hotel" or "Hotel Chevalier," your dreams are now a reality with the new Fondazione Prada café in Milan.

Anderson, famous for imaging celebrated movie scenes, says, "While I do think it would make a pretty good movie set, I think it would be an even better place to write a movie. I tried to make it a bar I would want to spend my own non-fictional afternoons in."

On May 9, Bar Luce opened its doors to guests to experience original Milan architecture of 1910, to choose from 200 songs from the antique jukebox and to play a game or two with the Steve Zissou-themed pinball machines.

The space was inspired by two Italian Neorealism films: 1951's "Miracolo a Milano" and 1960's "Rocco El I Suoi Fratelli."

Fondazione's bar interior direction is the product of a previous Prada collaboration from Anderson's 2013 short film "Castello Cavalcanti," starring Jason Schwartzman.

Bar Luce echoes classic, old-school Milanese cafés with color-blocked Formica tables, throw-back appliances, pastel furniture and custom napkins with the café's name in pink lettering that's complemented with bow-tied bartenders.

A visit to the WC will give one a charming experience because of its black and white tiling and lilac walls.

The café can be accessed from Via Orobia and is open everyday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
