Call it political, emotional or simply just another form of communicating, this week we're highlighting fashions and furnishings that have continued to take on the use of typography.

Today's The Design Connection recognizes recent designers' play on words. Whether motivated to make a serious statement or a lighthearted declaration, font embellished products are becoming more and more popular.

Designer collections from Fall 2015 such as  Walter Van Beirendonck and Acne Studios take on a more political approach with the use of text by addressing human rights and social issues respectively. Whereas products from Edie Parker, Jonathan Adler and Kate Spade merely use words in a playful manner.

The similar and essential aspect of either method lies in the desire to connect with individuals, even in the form of nonverbal communication. A letter, a word or quote can speak to someone uniquely, but what triggers thought for one person may not for another. And that is the beauty in having the freedom to choose what works for you.

Even without word-printed products, what a person purchases for their wardrobe or what they bring into their home represents a bit of who they are and their lifestyle. In this special case, our selection of message-filled merchandise allows for consumers to express themselves in a more direct way, ultimately a more personal way.

Shop from our assortment of products that can do the speaking for you!
