(Photo : YouTube/YouCar) AeroMobil is set to launch its ambitious flying car technology in 2017. Could this be the solution for traffic jams and other road transportation issues?

Can humans expect to say goodbye to traffic jams in the near future? AeroMobil is already prepping the future of personal transportation with its flying cars. With the prototype already out to amaze humankind, it won't take long for them to see themselves in personal vehicles that are capable of beating traffic jams and other land transportation issues.

According to CS Monitor, the future of transportation may already be in the midst of humankind. Back in 1989, "Back to the Future II" already projected that flying cars would become a reality in 2015. Now that it's 2015, AeroMobil is already taking the first step towards realizing this prediction.

Back in October 2014, AeroMobil CEO Juraj Vaculik already announced that they are already working on flying cars. After testing their prototype models of the aerial cars, AeroMobil is already looking into launching the technology to the public in 2017.

The flying car is designed to be a car with the capacity of flying. What AeroMobil did is create a vehicle that looks like a car but has a jet exhaust pipe and wings that extend for flight.

"We need another revolution, we need a revolution in personal transportation," Vaculik said at the South by Southwest presentation on Sunday.

The Verge has learned that the first commercial flying car will only accommodate two people and will be equipped with parachutes.

While the company is particularly preoccupied with ensuring that the official products would be safe for use by general consumers, AeroMobil still has a long way to go in making this ambitious venture work.

The company is well aware that it needs to pass government regulations, build necessary infrastructure and establish terms that will not contradict airplane regulations and whatnot.

For now, Vaculik says the flying cars will only be made available for "wealthy supercar buyers" in 2017, but he also admits that he is hoping the prices for these bold products will drop with time like what usually happens to the prices of other technologies.

Interestingly, only qualified pilots will be allowed to use the half-car, half-aircraft vehicle that runs on regular car fuel, reports RT.
