'Insurgent' Movie Scenes: Shailene Woodley, Theo James' New Photos And Video For 2015 Film

(Photo : Divergent Facebook) Shailene Woodley and Theo James star in the upcoming 'Insurgent' movie by Lionsgate based on the Veronica Roth trilogy 'Divergent.' The film also stars Kate Winslet, Naomi Watts and Octavia Spencer.

There's plenty of news this week concerning the upcoming "Insurgent" movie -- which, as fans know, is part of the "Divergent" trilogy penned by author Veronica Roth. For starters, Lionsgate has finally confirmed the movie will be rated PG-13, as previously suspected. The rating came as a result of intense violence, some sensuality, thematic elements and brief language.

The official movie synopsis was also revealed in conjunction with the rating decision. It boils down to this:

"Insurgent" raises the stakes for Tris as she searches for allies and answers in the ruins of a futuristic Chicago. Tris (Shailene Woodley) and Four (Theo James) are now fugitives on the run, hunted by Jeanine (Kate Winslet), the leader of the power-hungry Erudite elite. Racing against time, they must find out what Tris's family sacrificed their lives to protect, and why the Erudite leaders will do anything to stop them.

Haunted by her past choices but desperate to protect the ones she loves, Tris, with Four at her side, faces one impossible challenge after another as they unlock the truth about the past and ultimately the future of their world.

From the synopsis, it appears the film tries to stay true to the book.

In other "Insurgent" news, there are new photo stills for the movie on Tumblr and a behind-the-scenes video clip that's been posted on YouTube. It's entitled "THE DIVERGENT SERIES: INSURGENT – Preliminary B-Roll."

Even though the clip is only a little over two minutes long, it gives fans a glimpse of all of the immense effort that goes into capturing even one scene. During the clip, we get to see Jenna Bush Hager as she chats backstage. Hager interviewed Woodley and James for the "Today" show in connection to the film.

As for the Tumblr pictures, there are some fabulous action shots intended for promotional purposes, like movie posters and commercials, and a handful of movie stills depicting Tris, Four and other cast members in various scenes.

Hopefully, these latest sneak peeks will be enough to sate fans for a little while longer as they wait for the "Insurgent" premiere on March 20, 2015.
