For us average folks, it is a dream to own a beachfront villa on an exclusive island, but for today's elite, it's a reality. Fashion designer and business mogul Donna Karan has been a Parrot Cay villa owner for many years, owning a 10-acre estate on the 1,000-acre island.
The Turks and Caicos Islands have been a frequent destination for the rich and famous, with many celebrities owning homes on Pirate Cay and the north island. Parrot Cay is accessible by boat from the Providenciales -- the island being separate from the mainland and the host of the exclusive Parrot Cay Resort and Shambhala Spa Retreat.
For the those able to afford such luxurious staycations, the good news is Karan is selling seven-acres of her beachfront estate. The designer has listed two of her lavish four-bedroom villas on the market for $36 million, a hefty price point. Each feature unparalleled ocean views, three bedroom suites with a second-floor master bedroom and an infinity pool. Designed by Cheong Yew Kuan, he has incorporated unique elements of art from around the world, cedar and coral interior walls, teak furniture and crafted details, for an overall appealing island aesthetic.
One would think a person would be happily content with just a home on a secluded island, but the perks of villa life continue with an included private guest pavilion, a chef's kitchen and yoga studio. The Parrot Cay Resort has a total of 60 rooms and suites, unbelievable beachfront villas and two island restaurants. Many have claimed the resort to be located on some of the world's prettiest white sand beaches and clear waters -- ideal for fishing and snorkeling adventures.
The Shambhala Wellness Retreat Spa provides the ultimate relaxation experience for visitors. Offering a yoga room, nine treatment rooms, an outdoor Jacuzzi garden, Pilates studio, massage rooms with Japanese baths and pavilions overlooking the North Caicos Channel for gazing.
Karan will continue to own three acres of her property, including a house, a spa and a few swimming pools. Being a potential neighbor to designer Donna Karan, Bruce Willis' family, Keith Richards and Christie Brinkley doesn't sound too shabby. The resort happens to be where Willis and Emma Heming were married, along with Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner.
Avid celebrity visitors include Tom Cruise, Penelope Cruz, Robert De Niro, Prince Edward, Michael J. Fox, Janet Jackson, Eva Longoria and Paul McCartney.
If you have $39 million to spare, could we get an invite?
