1. Bryant Park
The park that truly captures the spirit of Christmas in New York City is Bryant. I love viewing the New York Library at night and cruising to see what the vendors are offering, along with seeing people ice skate and admiring the decorated tree. I tried some of the best apple cider I've ever had and purchased "no-chewing allowed" chocolate (delicious!) — and the surrounding views of the park aren't half bad either.
2. Hillcrest Farmers Market
I flew into San Diego, Calif., to visit my sister before the holidays at my childhood home and spent a few days exploring the city's neighborhoods. I ventured with friends to the Hillcrest Farmers Market on Sunday and as usual, I was inspired by the colors of the fresh produce and the organized and unorganized assortment of goods. I sipped fresh lemonade, tried homemade salsa and purchased bacon avocados along with some artichokes and rosemary. It is a must if you live in San Diego or happen to visit on a Sunday!
3. Quince Street Bridge
I love walking through neighborhoods and stumbling across unique areas like this bridge that resides between 4th and 5th avenues in Bankers Hill, San Diego. It is a short walk across but with pretty views of greenery and walking trails below, including a darling shingled home that lives along the hillside. This hidden gem was built in 1905 and originally cost $805 to complete — crazy!
4. JRDN Restaurant @ Tower 23
One of my favorite places in San Diego to eat is JRDN restaurant at Tower 23 Hotel in Pacific Beach —with outdoor seating, ocean views and exceptional spicy margaritas (highly recommended)— I'm always happily content here. This time I tried my first Heuvos Rancheros for brunch and it was quite yummy, it is one of the best places to dine if you are in PB!
5. Christmas 2014 Apparel
I've let you in on my favorite vintage shop in Gramercy before— Vintage Thrift —where I always find unique treasures at affordable prices. My most recent purchase was this plaid A-line skirt of marsala, grey and pale pink colors, a very holiday-esque garment. I found my silver turtleneck blouse at Vintage Thrift as well, the top is metallic with a lovely shimmer to it even though it is difficult to tell from the photograph. This outfit = $35 (minus my new handbag and heels)!
