Bradley Cooper has American blood.

The sexiest man alive is slated to star in an upcoming crime thriller, "American Blood."

The film will be based on the novel "American Blood" by Ben Sanders, which is scheduled to be released by Macmillan in 2015.

Cooper and Warner Bros. must have tremendous faith in the 24-year-old Sanders, as the author has only written a portion of the manuscript.

In fact, the entire entertainment industry is smitten with Sanders; according to The Hollywood Reporter, "At least one other studio had bid on the project...  and several TV companies had also expressed interest."

"American Blood" will tell the story of "Marshall Grade, an NYPD officer turned mob informant, who, while living in the witness protection program in New Mexico, is pulled into a dangerous investigation involving a missing woman," THR reported.

A press release from last December summarized Sanders remarkable rise:

"At 24... Sanders is... still living at home (or, more accurately, living at home again) and already a veteran author with a folder of glowing press reviews and three bestsellers under his belt.

"That was enough to catch the eye of Brendan Deneen, Senior Editor at Thomas Dunne Books and head of MacMillan Films in New York City, who, in mid-November, approached Sanders with an invitation for the author to pitch an idea for a totally new American-based series of crime novels; a challenge Sanders took up with enthusiasm. Less than two weeks later, the publisher predicted a bright future for the rising star and offered him a multiple book contract based on Sanders' three-page synopsis."

"American Blood" will be the first of installment of Sanders' multiple book contract. Which is a lot of pressure--and it's a lot more pressure now that Bradley Cooper's new movie is depending on Sanders' writing ability.

Andrew Sodroski will adapt the script. Cooper is producing the movie with his company 22 and Indiana along with John Lesher, Adam Kassan, and Chantal Nong.
